Don't worry be happy?

Posted by Matt Hopper, 11 May 2010 13:40

I was driving back to work, from an early morning shoot, and stopped at this sign. I couldn't help smiling to myself; so I had to stop (worrying) and take a photo of it.

Go Pro HD

Posted by Matt Hopper, 9 May 2010 20:20

Go Pro HD from compulsive on Vimeo.

I'm working on a job at the moment that requires that I shoot some multi-angle car footage, which is quite timely because I recently purchased a Go Pro HD Motorsport Hero camera. The Go Pro HD camera is size of a box of matches and shoots 1920x1080 HD and comes with all the accessories needed to rig the tiny camera to almost any area of a car. A couple of years ago this would have meant possibly getting a grip on board and working out some complicated rigging systems for shooting the various camera angles. Obviously this is a budget priced piece of kit which does shoot pretty wide and does a bit of 'fish eyeing' in the process, but for US$299 you can buy the whole camera kit for the cost of a couple of hours of a grips time.

The above video shows my first test with the camera shot on Melbourne's Eastlink Freeway this week.

Tim Kill guitars

Tim Kill guitars from compulsive on Vimeo.

I took a drive out to Cockatoo, which is a beautiful country town about an hour outside of Melbourne, on the weekend. My reason was to meet Tim Kill the guitar maker and check out his workshop. I stumbled across Tim's work on the upcoming Melbourne guitar makers festival website, and being an avid guitar collector, was immediately intrigued by his unique work. Tim and his wife were very hospitable and we discussed the idea of producing a full InFrame.tv profile on his work.

I thought I'd post a short video of Tim playing one of his awesome glide guitars. If you'd like to see more of Tim's guitars check out his website here.

The Prop Room

Posted by Matt Hopper, 19 April 2010 19:06

I went to the launch of my good friend Lyn Gardener's latest project The Prop Room last Friday night. For those who are interested we featured Lyn as our first InFrame.tv profile way back in 2008. If you haven't seen the film you can see the film here.

Anyway, back to business, The Prop Room by Gardener and Marks hire props for film and photographic shoots. So if you're in Melbourne, and need some vintage props for a shoot definitely get in contact with them. The address is 8 Mourbray St Albert Park Melbourne.

See below for a small taste of the types items which are for hire.
