Tim Burton on drawing from compulsive on Vimeo.

I went to the Tim Burton exhibition launch at ACMI this week and shot this clip on my Flip Camera of him talking about the place that drawing has in his life and his creative process. What a wonderful exhibition and a must-see for anybody in Melbourne in the coming months.

Lyon Housemuseum

Posted by Matt Hopper, 19 June 2010 14:37

I've been very busy the last 6 weeks making 10 short film for the Premier's Design Awards, which are coming up in early July. The short films are a little InFrame(esque), but instead of capturing creative process they are focused on profiling the positive social and economic outcomes of good design in Victoria Australia. The Lyon Housemuseum was one of my favourite projects because it's such a visual treat to film. We're currently in discussion to produce an InFrame.tv profile on Corbett Lyon and his creative process in the coming months. In the meantime the Premier's Design Awards video of the project is attached.

The Church Deadman's Hand

Posted by Matt Hopper, 16 June 2010 11:30

The Church Deadman's Hand from compulsive on Vimeo.

We recorded The Church at The Corner Hotel last year for their InFrame.tv profile, which you can see here. The video attached is the live version of their single Deadman's Hand, which was released from the wonderful album Untitled #23. We shot this video at the Corner Hotel, and the band room at the hotel is pretty tricky to shoot in as it has some awkwardly placed pillars close to the stage, which makes getting coverage with 3 cameras a challenge. Most concert film will have over 10 cameras, but we were only capturing cut-aways on the night for our short documentary, so 3 cameras was adequate for that purpose. The full edit of the song is a little clunky as a result of our limited camera coverage, but it does show The Church in full flight, which is always a very special experience.
