Gina is an amazing concept car created by Chris Bangle when he was the Director of Design at The BMW Group. The concept car's skin is made from from a fabric material and is incredibly beautiful and unique. For an overview on the car check out the video and stay tuned for our profile film on Chris going live early September.

Great Film apps for Ipads

Posted by Matt Hopper, 19 August 2010 15:07

I'm loving a few filmmaking apps I've been using on my iPad namely The Movie Star Slate and ProPrompter. Sorry about this crass video but it actually explains the products pretty well and is worth watching if for nothing else than their dig at Ben Afleck, "if Ben Afleck did it, how hard could it be?" Maybe that's a question all filmmakers should ask themselves.

Fever Ray Award Acceptance

Posted by DAVE KING, 7 August 2010 18:16

In this clip, Karin Dreijer Andersson a accepts the award for best dance at some Swedish music awards - she is also half the electro pop duo, The Knife (Melbourne audiences will get a taste of The Knife's music in the upcoming Melbourne Festival show, Tomorrow, in a year). Is there a dig here about the esteemed House of Gaga? Probably.

Any random week...

Posted by Matt Hopper, 6 July 2010 11:16

Any random week from compulsive on Vimeo.

I've got into the habit of carrying around a Flip Video Camcorder. The Flip is actually a reasonable new purchase and I first came across it through a past InFrame.tv profile artist Steve Kilbey from The Church. I was watching a little tour movie of his called rode movie on his blog and dropped him a line to say I enjoyed it... anyway he said he was using his new Flip Cam while on tour capturing moments...  I didn't know what they were and was intrigued and bought one. For those like me who didn't know, The Flip is a bloody cheap little video camera which takes 2 hours of HD video footage and is smaller than most mobile phones. It takes pretty grainy footage in low light and it's almost impossible not to take shaky footage with it, but the device is so bloody handy and somehow has this modern super 8 feel to it (especially if you throw a few wacky filters on the footage in post). Maybe the new iPhone, which now shoots HD video footage will bury this little device, but in the meantime I'm hooked on the idea of shooting video footage wherever I go with a gleeful abandon!

So excuse the random self-indulgence but here's some footage from my last week edited up in an hour last night on Final Cut Pro with a bit of random Magic Bullet Looks thrown in for good measure.
